What do you think? Pop-up vs. Hardwall. Too many pros and cons of each. Pop-up reduces drag and weight for that cross country trip and eventually many trips up to the promised land for point break freshwater goodness. But, hardwall gives you the satisfaction of four hard walls and all the protection from driving rain that usually accompany low pressure systems in which we hunt. But, pop-ups allow for nice air flow in the summer so the air conditioner doesn't need to run often. However, hardwalls have nice windows. I guess the main question one has to ask themselves is which camper will they be most satisfied with in the long term? Once again, stuck in contemplation station.....

dude, I'd for sure go with the hard wall version all the way. Think about your surf bro's, where are they going to be chill'n on the way up to Superior or the Shwa. The pop up might be a little tight in transit. I think what's interesting in this photo is the truck bed side wall storage on the right. I've never seen anyone do that before. Pretty Smart idea!
Mulder is right. Hard wall is the way to go. When you have the Dodge 3/4 ton diesel with a 6 speed manual, you wont have to worry about any drag on the road. Just think when you get to the posting spot, do you really want to be in a modified tent? How about the snow trips? Live the dream and wake up those tent campers with ga ga ga ga ga ga ga ga Cummings style!
Dudes, right on! I guess I have to make the search for the epic truck now. 3/4 tons are pretty spendy, especially diesels. I have to look for that older one that has been babied by some old dude. Most of the older ones I have seen lately are pretty hit and used up. Let me know if anyone finds one. Also, they make few hardwall TC's for the 1500 or 150 trucks which I have heard are great but you lose a few creature comforts. The real deal is which truck can I live with driving around everyday.
