I love warm Spring Surf even though it can be micro small. Nor Mo had it's share of fun lefts and very seldom but punchy rights Saturday AM. My buddy Rick did a little shooting with a small waterproof digital camera he picked up recently. This camera would be really nice to accompany a pair of swim fins right in the line up. I can only imagine the shot's we could get this fall dropping into some lake bombs. There seems to be very few good lake surf photos from that perspective. This camera can take 5-15 shot sequence shots which would be perfect in the surf photogs.
People always ask what SAMA means. It started as kind of a joke. It was a sleeting, snowy day in early December. My friend and I were surfing a swell in Grand Haven. I looked over at him knowing we were supposed to both be at pre-Christmas family functions soon, and said "We are like Self Absorbed Michigan Adventurers." That kind of stuck, and like many of our friends we have a common passion for outdoor sports in Michigan, and we go out in any weather to get our sessions. He replied "Ya, SAMA!"
So it was born, the SAMA logo was fashioned by another like minded surfer friend from Grand Haven. SAMA is for all of you year round Michiganders and vacationers who know, love, and respect all the outdoor activities there are to do in Michigan. No matter the weather you will find us us out enjoying all the benefits of our unique freshwater paradise.

I figured NorthMo would be producing something small, cute, and fun! We actually planned on coming up there to surf after the downwinder from Ferrysburg. I would have been sweet to make it all the way to Muskegon and come around the jetty to slash it up with you Mitch. But, the wind switched out of the north and killed our dreams. Anyway, great Saturday morning!
