U.P. marathon!

Once again Braymer and Cooper proved they are always ready for any "Epic Mission!" After maybe four hours of sleep in TENTS they awoke at "dark thirty" and prepared for their journey. They had to catch the runners' ferry over to Grand Island to hit the trails. After tredging through slippery muddy spots, heavy sandy beaches, wooded trails, and the infamous gradual climb at mile 18 they arrived at the finish line . Sunny, Aaron, and I made it over just in time to cheer them in. Here is the quick clip of "mission accomplished!"

Fudgin in the UP

Hello Samainians,

Crashed at Jason Ayers Huron Hotel up in St. Ignace. We cruised out to Mackinac Island for some breakfast and of course fudge this morning. We scored the under the Big Mac ferry tour. Here is a couple of highlights. I am leaving shortly to go surf the shwa. Then on to run the Grand Island Trail Marathon. SAMA rules!!!!

Xavier Rudd Show Sept. 20th Vic Theatre Chicago

Anyone up for a sweet show!!???

Xavier Rudd, the killer new sensational musician / surfer coming out of Australia will be at Vic Theatre in Chicago Saturday Sept. 20th. Tickets are 21.50. We could all rally down there on the train, or if there is surf we could head down grab some southend waves and hit a sweet show! I have posted some of his videos on SAMA before, but here is another great Xavier song. Let's do this!!!!

Snowboarding and Swimming

Samainians!! We just returned from Zell am See. It was a great time. Ralph, Michael, and I went snowboarding on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier one morning, and then went down to the lake for some sunbathing and swimming. We love that place. Took some killer hiking tours along the rocky mountains. I had the offer to go kiting with some guys Stoffi hung out with, but the wind didn`t cooperate. That would have been epic. Snowboarding in the morning, and kiting in the afternoon. Oh well, maybe next year I will bring all my gear. We got to ride all the way down to the middle station gondola, which made the runs nice and long. Leg burners, especially since I haven`t snowboarded since March. We dropped in on this rocky chute from the top station. All the tourists were coming over to watch, and thought we were crazy. Epic summer snowboarding session. They said early June there was some nice powder up there. It is a really cool feeling to get up in the morning with shorts and tee shirt. Drive 20 minutes to the glacier gondola, and snowboard for a few hours. Then back to the lake for swimming in the sun. Totally epic!!!
